Midwives are the traditional care providers for mothers and infants. Midwives are trained professionals with expertise and skills in supporting women to maintain healthy pregnancies and have optimal births and recoveries during the postpartum period. Midwives provide women with individualized care uniquely suited to their physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and cultural needs. Midwifery is a woman-centered empowering model of maternity care that is utilized in all of the countries of the world with the best maternal and infant outcomes such as The Netherlands, United Kingdom and Canada.” - Midwives Alliance of North America

When you hire Kindred Hearts Community Midwifery, here is what you get:

  • Comprehensive prenatal, birth, and postpartum services in the privacy of your home - Experience traditional midwifery care in the place where you are most relaxed. We come to you! It doesn’t get more convenient than that. No more long wait times at the doctor’s office.

  • Extensive referral network for allopathic and alternative therapies (ex: chiropractic, craniosacral therapy, massage) - Sometimes wellness takes a village. Should a problem or discomfort arise, we provide every client with a list of qualified care providers, as well as personal recommendations, to support their health. (PS - We love holistic health providers! If you are a little on the crunchy granola side, we speak your language.)

  • Prenatal labwork, testing, and referrals for ultrasound - Just because you birth at home doesn’t mean you that you don’t have access to modern healthcare. It’s all available to you should you desire it.

  • Assistance with the birth certificate - When you hire licensed midwives, filing the birth certificate is straightforward. We can help you with that.

  • Waterbirth - Enjoy the ease, beauty, and pain relief of birth in the water. We provide the birth pool and supplies. We even do the cleaning up.

  • Labor support - We’re with you through the whole birth, providing physical and emotional support.

  • 24 hour on-call availability - Our cell phones are always on. We are always available for any questions or concerns no matter how small. You won’t get an answering service. You’ll get your very own midwife.

  • Breastfeeding counseling and assistance - We make sure you and your little one are off to a good nursing start right after the birth. And we continue to give hands on support in the days and weeks to come.

  • Family-centered care - Birth is a family event (as we’ve said a dozen times). We encourage partner and sibling participation in appointments and the birth itself.

Kindred Hearts Community Midwifery believes that home birth should be available for every woman. Because of this, we offer flexible monthly payment plans. We also bill insurance companies for reimbursement.

Many families are able to receive full or partial reimbursement for their home birth! These are exciting times!

Please contact us to learn about our pricing and payment options. We accept credit, debit, check, and cash payments.
